Appreciating Monday’s– Avoiding Monday Madness

Happy Monday! 

For a while now I have been almost designating Mondays’s as my (almost) day off. I haven’t planned much or else I will feel like I am not getting anything accomplished! So, if I do end up with a very accomplished Monday, it’s just a bonus. 🙂

However, typically Monday’s just end up being CRAZY! Despite the plan or non-plan! I need to work on my Monday’s! If I could just stay in bed all day on Monday’s that would just be great!

I did a pretty good job of planning out my week, this week, but we will see. I tend to underestimate the unexpected life events that always take place.

I am still working on and planning, my intentions for November! This is a short month, and November always goes by SOooooo FAST!

On another note: I am loving the time change! I AM REALLY FEELING THE EXTRA HOUR IN MY DAY! Although, I am tired a LOT earlier! But, with the extra really feels like I can get a LOT more accomplished!

Here is my, Top Ten for a good Monday! (Or a good Morning in General!)

  1. Meal Prep on Sundays! Saturday’s are for grocery shopping!
  2. I do not set an alarm on Monday, unless I HAVE to be up early for something.
  3. Wake up with Gratitude. Write. (Morning Pages!) or sometimes Yoga.
  4. Meditate before I even think about touching electronics!
  5. Chill and kind of absorb what is going on for the week and think about how I want my week to go and what I want to accomplish.
  6. Have my Detox Water ready to go upon waking.
  7. Sunday night’s, I have a spa night! Sometimes it could be on Saturday’s.
  8. Lay out my clothes for the day on Sunday’s.
  9. Take into account my families plans for the week!
  10. Start off the week with a good workout (typically it’s a evening on a Monday!) and eat clean to my fuel my body.

If all else fails…..Stay in BED and read all day!

Perfectly Imperfect Race Day –10K YAY #RunningOnTheWall — Halloween Edition

Happy Saturday & Happy Halloween! 

Today… I got up early (4:30, but with the time Falling Back tonight that 4-5 AM wake-up is going to feel like 3 AM!

I already had my running clothes laid out the night before. But, wait where is my SHOE!

Hobbling around room in the dark, one shoe on, turn on the lights, still can’t find it, (note to self today is the day to clean my bedroom…thoroughly!) My running shoe is MIA! so my old, old, shoes had to make due! 

This Virtual Race Day was not off to a great start. at least I looked cute this morning. Super Cute Hat with my Running on The Wall Gear (my camera on this old phone I’m using, is pathetic! For real the camera is so bad, it’s enough to make me cry!) I didn’t even really realize that it was Halloween, until I was done with my race (people were in costumes and I really wasn’t paying attention lol) …YES MY RACE WAS on a treadmill! I was extremely grateful, that I just had to jump in my car and go to the gym!!! I am loving the Virtual Race aspect of this as well as my monthly commitment to it.

However, the treadmill shut off like 3 times and re-started my time/pace/distance. So, all my race time is iffy I know Jogged/Walked under a Hour and a half. And, that’s all I need to know really! My only competition is myself and right now my GOALS are setting the bar and work on self-improvement…everyday!

Distance… I kept track of with my phone and about 99,9% sure I got the distance right.

However, in my heart ❤ I did the best I could! As far as distance, (may be a little sore, but not too bad.) I have completed a 5K and now 10K. And, feeling more comfortable to really start my “training and work on getting BETTER! Also, I know I have been working on this for years, but getting OUTSIDE and running, I am in the perfect time of year for this. Summer, I have the worst allergies and running in heat is harder for me.

Confession: I had the flu for two weeks +, this is my first real week back to feeling like myself and so no real training was performed! I did yoga when I could and practiced lots and lots of Self-Care.

I did way better than I expected, my time flew by fast, my body felt OK, I did the whole marathon more like a HIIT running/walking. With a couple longer jogs. The treadmill was fine today.

My goal for next month is to do my race outside! And, focus on real training.

  • One Banana Smashed
  • 2 TBSP Mighty Nut Powered Peanut Butter Protein Don’t forget to enter giveaway! HERE! 
  • 2 TBSP of Chia Seeds (fold in)
  • I use Almond Milk, whatever you like/use will be fine about 4- 8 oz. (depending on how thick you like your Chia Pudding.)
  • Splash of Vanilla Extract.
  • Dash Cinnamon and Turmeric
  • Top with Blueberries and Toasted Coconut just for fun!
  • Added Blueberries + Coconut in the morning

Anyways, even if it was a 10K walk/run it is still a success!!!

Completely Random Saturday’s — Coffee Talk — Running, Yoga, and Healing

Good Morning & Happy Saturday! 

Day Before, my Virtual 5K with Running On The Wall.

This is my Swag! Love it ALL! OMG those sandals are to die for. And the shirt is so soft and perfectly fit. But I will tell you more after my virtual race tomorrow. Sunday Runday’s are on a big-time comeback for me.

Long story short + *disclaimer I was offered a chance to run a Virtual Race a month, tell about it for a sawg pack like posted the above, once a month for a year. (Can I get a heck YES?!) Talk about some running motivation! This opportunity came to me last weekend at the Seabrook Retreat, during my brief spot of internet, after a horrid attempt at a run. What really stood out to me was the thought, perfect timing! because, I had actually cried after a asthma attack at the beginning of a beach run. I made it to top of steps and kept on going back to the house to get calm, I didn’t think to bring a inhaler, I have only had a asthma attract a couple times in my life. And, this was  at the very beginning of the workout. (TOTALLY WILL HAVE A POST ON SEABROOK with For The Glow….It was an amazing, life-changing trip that deserves a whole blog post for itself, just like my Running recap will be tomorrow!) 

To add to that *Disclaimer, all opinions are my own. I would totally do this, get a bunch of friends from all over the world, to Virtually race with me. With that amazing quality of “Swag” involved and it’s cheaper than a real race and if the weather does not cooperate and you can sort of pick your own date close to that of the event time.

And then I cried, and cried, and cried, in a nice warm shower. It wasn’t just the attack, it was the fact I gave up and I really need to make running and consistently running back in my life.

So, I seen the opportunity to run a virtual race and commit for a year…. I was all over that…. DONE! It said run, walk or crawl! So, my first race will be my starting point basically!

Oh man, it looks beautiful out, but Oh man, my allergies really “turned on” this morning. I am really contemplating the weekly allergies shots. It feels like every season is a season that I have a different allergy.

So, for me “right now” running outdoors is what completely flares my allergies up is out of the question. It sucks because it would be optimal outside running weather! (Shhhhh I am a fair weather runner!) Lucky for me, that’s exactly why I joined the gym!

And, the beauty of a Virtual 5K!

I just got done doing something totally crazy…

Ready for it…

I did my “own” yoga workout early this A.M. No planning ,just flowing this morning. Giving lots of extra attention to what I have been working on healing and stretching what needs to be stretched. I finished…..

… and I just sat there. And, then I meditated for a while no time limit, just until I felt like stopping… and felt this overwhelming sense of gratitude, that I just did something very special for myself.

I have not done that in a long time. My body is so happy right now.

I truly believe that everyone should take their yoga & meditation practice HOME with them!

Also, side note I had to get in and get some Spa Time at Espri Corps Ame’ I told her what hurts where, and had the most AMAZING Massage, and then did an AMAZING Infrared Sauna treatment. Another light-bulb moment from Seabrook, I needed to fix my back and hips AND clear out my lungs or I won’t have any good workouts!

Now I have no plans today except cleaning in my PJ’s! Yes, I took a shower and put new PJ’s on, because … it’s freakin Saturday! It’s my planning day and R & R “personal” spa day.

Anyways, gonna enjoy me some “Wonderful Saturday!”

I believe there is a force in all of us that keeps us going. And, if we pay attention, it directs us where to go and helps us with our own life path. Some people don’t realize it’s even there and ignore the signs. Others just have a higher intuition and “just KNOW.”  You can call it whatever you want. But, bottom line is we are all made out of energy and need to keep that “Balance” in check. I can totally feel when my life it out of balance and my energy is out of whack and periods of extreme lows etc.

That is WHY……

I’m working on “focusing” MY Life Force, my personal balance… on yours truly in the month of May! #ProjectMeInMay

Thankful Thursday — Back to Basics

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Today I am thankful for….

Life.

Good Morning. If you read my blog you would know, I complained in the past, a lot about “SUPER” early morning wake-ups! Lately, I had been waking up around 9-10 A.M. My sleep schedule is all messed up and it feels like the days have been flying by and I am just not getting anything done by sleeping in that late, when I am waking up so late groggy . This morning I woke up around 4:45 A.M. and got out of bed a little after 5 A.M. A perfect time in my opinion. I had been on one extreme or another. Need to find my middle ground and start waking up on my own, somewhere between 5-6 A.M would be ideal.

I decided, I am in desperate need to get back on a  sleep schedule with early wake-ups and get my motivation and energy back!

I am still grieving the loss of my Mother In Law. I really didn’t know that it would hit me so hard. Ever since my Mother in Law was released from the hospital straight to my house, at the very beginning of January, I feel like my “LIFE” has been on hold. There has been non-stop stress in my life, and that needs to change. My Mother and Father in Law, have not lived more than five minuets away my entire marriage. I did not grow up here. When I was seventeen I got on a Greyhound Bus to go visit my future husband and family in Washington State from Michigan and never really looked back. I took on his family as my own with all the family drama and love, that come along with it. Now, with both parents gone, I feel lost. I have ALL of her stuff in my house, her things, literally take up three rooms in my house.  I have not been able to “deal” with her stuff yet. I think I sunk into a little bit of depression. I’m lucky to keep up on the dailies and keeping the main areas clear. However, moving forward has been harder than I could ever have imagined. It’s felt like I have been overwhelmed and stressed out since this year has started.

My daughter just had foot surgery a couple days ago and is non-weight bearing for 6 weeks and at least three months recovery time. Then she will do the other foot. So, now I am taking care of her. And, trust me she is more work than my Mother in Law was while she was dying. I feel like I just haven’t had a chance to “Just Breathe!”

This morning, while everyone is sleeping, I finally feel ready to get back to life. I am ready to enjoy life. I am ready to live each day to it’s fullest. I am ready to take back control of my home, health, and other responsibilities.

Moving Forward…..

Goals, Dreams, Life, Success, It’s MY time. Time to get back to putting myself first. The first step is just “showing up!” The second step, “showing up!” And, the third step, “showing up!” I am still on Spring break, and ready to “deal” with all the stuff of my Mother In Laws. This is going to require a LOT of work and a BIG yard sale.

Back on the Mat and back on the road! Signing up today for the Bloomsday Marathon in Spokane Washington. It’s at the beginning of May, so I am starting my training NOW. I have 38 days to prepare for this. Working out everyday, and stopping stress eating is one of my main priorities. A daily session with my Yoga Mat to avoid injury and get myself centered and grounded again is TOP Priority!

One day at a time!!!!!!

Daily blogging is also on my priority list. Also, my own personal writing, some awesome freelance opportunities, and continue writing my book. I’ve had days the past few months, where I couldn’t even bring myself to turn on my computer. Also, there are some awesome giveaways, and a total blog “make-over” coming SOON!

As ALWAYS, my plate is full. But, full of wonderful things to look forward to. Accomplishments to achieve and GOALS to focus on, to keep me busy and LIVE my life with the intention of finding balance and just jumping right back in with 110% effort to accomplish what I want and need!

So, Thankful Thursday! I am thankful that I have a renewed focus and new appreciation of living each day to it’s fullest.

Ahhh…. Another Random Sunday ~

Happy Sunday!

Perhaps, I should of added in blogging in my list to commitments for last week! Things are “very slowly” getting back to normal around here. Every day is different. Good ones and bad ones.

Getting BACK to a Sleep Schedule!!!! Woah! Daylight Savings Time really thew me off all week! Well, O.K. I had more stress than usual last week. But, as far as sleep I have NOT been waking up too early in the morning, (like I have complained about before here,) instead; some days I slept as late as 9-10 am. It was so weird, it felt like there just weren’t enough hours in the day and is seemed extra exhausting! This morning I dragged myself out at 6 A.M. I seriously have to wake up around the same time everyday and 6 is perfect for me. Not 3 A.M. that gets old quick! And, not 10 A.M. because, that is just too late. So, 6 A.M. is my goal this week to make myself to get up so I get used to it!

My days are gonna be super busy this week too. So, I have to got to get everything planned out, prepped, and READY to have a GOOD WEEK! I think I am overdue to have a completely “good week!” Of coarse I am scheduling my ME time first! I have to finish up my online school classes this week and get ready for finals. My house is coming along so good that we are actually doing some remodeling! And, I have yard sales, but it’s TIME! I just hope the weather goes back to being nice! It’s been cold, windy, and rainy here. From almost perfect spring weather.

Getting up early has one really advantage on Sunday’s….. If you have to shop at Wal-Mart you can get in and out before the crowds if you have to get stuff for the week! Plus, I am enjoying the peace and quiet! I have some good music on and journaling and drinking some AMAZING Coffee with Cacco Powder! There is NO RUSH today! I am gonna spoil myself a little bit today when I go shopping! I NEED NEW workout clothes A.S.A.P. I love my shoes, but I’ve wore them so much around the house, It’s time for another good running pair! I need the reward first in this case! 😉

Also, working on some personal Writing Projects! The kind that actually make money! Which is fun! For a little bit there I was a little stuck, but I think I’ve shaken it off and getting back on track here. It feels really good that I have been able to get back to moving in “forward” action. But, this does leave me with even more on my plate. But, I got this. It just keeps getting better and better.

Just gotta keep focused. Eyes on the prize! Getting my workouts all planned out this week #NoExcuses there!

Anyways, that’s it! Just some “Random” Sunday thoughts before I get BUSY around here at home! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!
