Completely Random Saturday’s — Coffee Talk — Running, Yoga, and Healing

Good Morning & Happy Saturday! 

Day Before, my Virtual 5K with Running On The Wall.

This is my Swag! Love it ALL! OMG those sandals are to die for. And the shirt is so soft and perfectly fit. But I will tell you more after my virtual race tomorrow. Sunday Runday’s are on a big-time comeback for me.

Long story short + *disclaimer I was offered a chance to run a Virtual Race a month, tell about it for a sawg pack like posted the above, once a month for a year. (Can I get a heck YES?!) Talk about some running motivation! This opportunity came to me last weekend at the Seabrook Retreat, during my brief spot of internet, after a horrid attempt at a run. What really stood out to me was the thought, perfect timing! because, I had actually cried after a asthma attack at the beginning of a beach run. I made it to top of steps and kept on going back to the house to get calm, I didn’t think to bring a inhaler, I have only had a asthma attract a couple times in my life. And, this was  at the very beginning of the workout. (TOTALLY WILL HAVE A POST ON SEABROOK with For The Glow….It was an amazing, life-changing trip that deserves a whole blog post for itself, just like my Running recap will be tomorrow!) 

To add to that *Disclaimer, all opinions are my own. I would totally do this, get a bunch of friends from all over the world, to Virtually race with me. With that amazing quality of “Swag” involved and it’s cheaper than a real race and if the weather does not cooperate and you can sort of pick your own date close to that of the event time.

And then I cried, and cried, and cried, in a nice warm shower. It wasn’t just the attack, it was the fact I gave up and I really need to make running and consistently running back in my life.

So, I seen the opportunity to run a virtual race and commit for a year…. I was all over that…. DONE! It said run, walk or crawl! So, my first race will be my starting point basically!

Oh man, it looks beautiful out, but Oh man, my allergies really “turned on” this morning. I am really contemplating the weekly allergies shots. It feels like every season is a season that I have a different allergy.

So, for me “right now” running outdoors is what completely flares my allergies up is out of the question. It sucks because it would be optimal outside running weather! (Shhhhh I am a fair weather runner!) Lucky for me, that’s exactly why I joined the gym!

And, the beauty of a Virtual 5K!

I just got done doing something totally crazy…

Ready for it…

I did my “own” yoga workout early this A.M. No planning ,just flowing this morning. Giving lots of extra attention to what I have been working on healing and stretching what needs to be stretched. I finished…..

… and I just sat there. And, then I meditated for a while no time limit, just until I felt like stopping… and felt this overwhelming sense of gratitude, that I just did something very special for myself.

I have not done that in a long time. My body is so happy right now.

I truly believe that everyone should take their yoga & meditation practice HOME with them!

Also, side note I had to get in and get some Spa Time at Espri Corps Ame’ I told her what hurts where, and had the most AMAZING Massage, and then did an AMAZING Infrared Sauna treatment. Another light-bulb moment from Seabrook, I needed to fix my back and hips AND clear out my lungs or I won’t have any good workouts!

Now I have no plans today except cleaning in my PJ’s! Yes, I took a shower and put new PJ’s on, because … it’s freakin Saturday! It’s my planning day and R & R “personal” spa day.

Anyways, gonna enjoy me some “Wonderful Saturday!”

Thursday Tribe Talk — Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

What am I THANKFUL for today?! My Friends & My Tribe!

I don’t know about you, but I have a few amazing tribes that I belong to, both online and in person.

My circle of friends is small and I like it that way. I gave up the friends that cause all the drama, a long time ago. (Well, maybe there is just one .. but love them anyways!)

I can’t even explain with enough gratitude and words my online connections! Like it’s pretty freaking amazing! It’s just so weird, because you connect with people on another level. At least I do. I have different groups and tribes for different areas of my life that “I NEED” support. And, support is always a click away.

How did I find my “tribes?” 

  • Most of the time my tribe just found me via. some sort of Social Media.
  • I joined the right groups on Facebook. (The ones with NO DRAMA!)
  • What you seek is also seeking you — Rumi (Think about it!)
  • Synchronicity.
  • Reaching out personally to people in groups or online that I know belong in my tribe, has been the key.

My Real Life Tribe?

This took years and years of literally weeding out friends. But, all the bad friendship’s that I have had have taught me a lesson! So, I value the time I spent, even if there was a lot of drama, not gonna lie a lot of CRAZY fun was involved too!

As we grow our needs change, our friendship needs change as well! 

I always get this amazing feeling that I am “being led” through life, and the people in my life are there for a reason! and one person I am led to may know my next best friend!

I believe there is a force in all of us that keeps us going. And, if we pay attention, it directs us where to go and helps us with our own life path. Some people don’t realize it’s even there and ignore the signs. Others just have a higher intuition and “just KNOW.”  You can call it whatever you want. But, bottom line is we are all made out of energy and need to keep that “Balance” in check. I can totally feel when my life it out of balance and my energy is out of whack and periods of extreme lows etc.

That is WHY……

But, also have some work to put in so I can truly enjoy my upcoming adventures when I squeeze in some FUN time, travel, and hopefully…. lots of fun in the Sun!

Fabulous Friday Fun — Wish List — Outfits for the Season

*~Happy Friday~*

TGIF this week, for sure!!!! This has been a really long week! Tonight is my night to volunteer for my daughters cheer them. Which makes for a long, but rewarding day! I go on the school bus to away games with fifty cheerleaders with the coach.

Confession Time!! Today’s theme was “OOTD”Outfit of the Day. However, If you seen my somewhat empty closet and empty dresser, you might be shocked! My outfit isn’t even gonna be picture worthy! My warmest Yoga Pants and a big School Spirit Hoodie and Boots. Honestly, I have nothing really cute that fits. Clothes have come last on my “to buy” list for a long long time. When did this happen? Oh, a little after I got married and started having kids! I have seemed to put myself last on the shopping list. This is just “unacceptable!” I don’t even own a jewelry box for gosh sakes! The first thing I but when I do shop, is plain yoga pants and running/gym shoes. I am always “waiting,” I will buy that later, or buy that when I have more money, or when I reach a smaller size. I don’t even LOVE my current running shoes. I thought they were cute, but now they are just uncomfortable.

So, I will make a wish list for Fall/Winter. Starting from the feet up. Workout clothes to evening wear. I am even going to make a new board for Pinterest.

If that is true, that is just sad! It’s time for me to at least bet myself some basics. I am going to pretend money is no object!

First, I need a good pair of Kicks for the Gym! A outfit for the gym, work, a Night out and PJ’s!

Summer Bucket List

My Summer Bucket List — took a lot of thought!

There is so much to do during the summer — I am ready for some Outdoor adventures!!!

My Intention — is to try two different things a month, if not more! It’s time for some getaways!!!!

TODAY!!!!! Scary, YES! I am trying to talk my friend into taking off to the lake today for her SPECIAL B-day and we’ve always talked about cliff jumping and watched everyone else while we were floating on Sun Lakes in Washington State.  It’s a little bit bigger jump but straight down no rocks sticking out like that.

Rock Climbing! I have done this before…But I was like 21! Such a rush!!! I wanna do this with a few girlfriends!!!

14 in Fourteen – Adventures

My Dream/Goal Workout Room at my family’s home near Seattle. We can totally do this! I WILL have this room by the end of 2014! It has a two person hot tub, shake machine, and a nice treadmill, with a TV in the room! It’s even on the second story! This is perfect for my extra room!

First Weekend of the New Year! We went over to Seattle (about 3.5 hrs away!) We stayed with family and I went there for Opening Weekend of the www.fortheglow.com Resolution Challenge! It was so much fun to meet all the girls and Jennifer Jordan in person! A great way to start the year with a getaway!It was AMAZING! Saturday, I (don’t laugh) had my first trip to Whole Foods! Yup, I was a Whole Foods Virgin! We met up and went through the whole store with Jenn (For The Glow) with grocery lists and I learned SO much about what to buy/eat what NOT to buy/eat! Seriously! It was awesome! I felt like a kid in a candy store! Note to SELF: Petition for a Whole Foods or Trader Joes to open in my small town! Then the next day, we met up for a workout in Jenn’s new studio in Downtown Seattle. I got my booty kicked! (no joke!)

This was the view on my way to my AM workout! All the girls I met were so inspiring! One girl even ran a hour to the workout class! And it was COLD out!

I can’t believe I didn’t take more pictures!

On the way over to Seattle, I wrote in my journal. And… decided to COMMIT to at least 14 Adventures (getaways) in 2014! Some may be out of town Marathons, Girls Weekends (to try new workouts), Hiking, Water rafting, Vacations, etc.  where we are doing something out of my comfort zone & adventurous! Maybe even a vacation or two in there! But, looking for new things to do/try will be there theme of the year! Who knows, I may end up skydiving! I’m not gonna plan for these adventures, It’s way more fun to make them spontaneous!

Weight Loss: I admit I am totally guilty of Holiday/winter weight gain! Some of the pictures from this weekend, I don’t even want to post. I look like I’m pregnant in all of them! I will be posting pics as I progress!!! his is my year to get in the best shape of my life. I totally believe with my Mind, Body, and Soul. That the weight is just gonna drop off! I OFFICIALLY start my detox tomorrow! I will be blogging about this. Giving up coffee, is going to be the biggest obstacle in this challenge! Also there is no dairy, or meat, but not as worried about that part. But, hubby loves meat, so I may have challenges, as I go into this!

My Intentions: for the year involve learning, achieving balance, and success. I am gonna put 110% commitment into everything I want to accomplish! It really is gonna be an exciting year! I can’t wait to cross my first Finish Line, get Certified in Yoga and maybe a couple other things! Last year I was just prepping to make 2014 the BEST YEAR EVER!!!
