100 Happy Days – Link-Up Party – Day, One and Two

Hello and Happy Thursday!

#Confession I am a celestial geek. Moon + Sun + Stars = Happiness.

It was a couple years ago, I realized that my life, basically is on the Moon’s Schedule. It’s odd that people think of witches when your talking about the moon and moon energy. Our bodies are made up of mostly water and if you really think about it. The moon affects all the water here on Earth, the tides etc. Why wouldn’t I expect it to affect me personally, I am after-all made up of mostly water.

Yesterday’s New Moon came to me, with a rush and purpose, set with new intentions! 🙂 A real feeling of a fresh start. I have not felt the same since Mercury Retrograded in September. It never seemed to end, to be quite honest. Last two months have NOT been my finest. Although, with certain circumstances, this has not exactly been a great year. I’m just RELYING on the fact that I had to get this (not so great) year, out of the way to make room for 2016 to ROCK!

But, guess what?! Everyday things are getting better! I’m already ready to #BringOn 2016! But, first I have to survive the rest of this year!

It’s 6AM here and I am sitting here with my Sun (Happy) Lamp on me. I started doing this every-morning (from either 5-6 or 6-7.) In fact, I would say it is part of my morning routine! And, I will continue through the winter months! It also comes in handy during these gray blah (GETTING COLDER,) DAYS!

This is my first week participating in the 100 Happy Days Link-Up that I found from, Kate at Kreative Whim, the other hosts include:

I will just start with two HAPPY DAYS! And, keep linking up on Thursday’s from here on out!

Day One: 11/11

I had one of those “money conversations with my hubby and got a lot of tension out of the air. Not to mention the literal “elephant in the room!” I spent time with a friend, it’s nice to have a friend who owns a spa and I am loving her Infrared Sauna! Came home, and cooked dinner and had “movie night” with Hubby. We watched Southpaw and Trainwreck!

I also discovered coloring!

Check out my Instagram for the finished coloring!

Day Two: 11/12 (today)

Woke up feeling fantastic. Not to mention the yummy coffee in my cup! On the menu for the day is meeting my friend at her Sauna and then heading to Hot Yoga to meet up with more friends. Probably, spend some time with hubby, since he took today off, and then tonight meeting friends at Bible Study. So, basically today is all about spending time with the people I love! ❤

Excited to keep up with this link-up challenge!

What are you reading?!?!

If I could ready a book everyday for 100 days, that would make me happy!

Well, cheers time for me to get my day movin and groovin!

XOXO,

Laurie~

Appreciating Monday’s– Avoiding Monday Madness

“Love Yourself First and Everything else falls into place.” — Lucille Ball

Happy Monday!

For a while now I have been almost designating Mondays’s as my (almost) day off. I haven’t planned much or else I will feel like I am not getting anything accomplished! So, if I do end up with a very accomplished Monday, it’s just a bonus. 🙂

However, typically Monday’s just end up being CRAZY! Despite the plan or non-plan! I need to work on my Monday’s! If I could just stay in bed all day on Monday’s that would just be great!

I did a pretty good job of planning out my week, this week, but we will see. I tend to underestimate the unexpected life events that always take place.

I am still working on and planning, my intentions for November! This is a short month, and November always goes by SOooooo FAST!

On another note: I am loving the time change! I AM REALLY FEELING THE EXTRA HOUR IN MY DAY! Although, I am tired a LOT earlier! But, with the extra really feels like I can get a LOT more accomplished!

Here is my, Top Ten for a good Monday! (Or a good Morning in General!)

  1. Meal Prep on Sundays! Saturday’s are for grocery shopping!
  2. I do not set an alarm on Monday, unless I HAVE to be up early for something.
  3. Wake up with Gratitude. Write. (Morning Pages!) or sometimes Yoga.
  4. Meditate before I even think about touching electronics!
  5. Chill and kind of absorb what is going on for the week and think about how I want my week to go and what I want to accomplish.
  6. Have my Detox Water ready to go upon waking.
  7. Sunday night’s, I have a spa night! Sometimes it could be on Saturday’s.
  8. Lay out my clothes for the day on Sunday’s.
  9. Take into account my families plans for the week!
  10. Start off the week with a good workout (typically it’s a evening on a Monday!) and eat clean to my fuel my body.

If all else fails…..Stay in BED and read all day!

Free Challenge! I LOVE this, I think I have done them all!

Making Monday’s Magical — Balance

Happy Monday, May 4th! May the forth be with you!

#confession …. It’s never get’s old. I’m a old school Star Wars geek!

kundalini-energy

I believe there is a force in all of us that keeps us going. And, if we pay attention, it directs us where to go and helps us with our own life path. Some people don’t realize it’s even there and ignore the signs. Others just have a higher intuition and “just KNOW.”  You can call it whatever you want. But, bottom line is we are all made out of energy and need to keep that “Balance” in check. I can totally feel when my life it out of balance and my energy is out of whack and periods of extreme lows etc.

That is WHY……

I’m working on “focusing” MY Life Force, my personal balance… on yours truly in the month of May! #ProjectMeInMay

This is a pretty big project! I am kind of climbing out of the “grief” hibernation mode.

So, today I am getting my week started off on great note and getting a lot accomplished and have I have some fantastic FUN plans for this month. But, also have some work to put in so I can truly enjoy my upcoming adventures when I squeeze in some FUN time, travel, and hopefully…. lots of fun in the Sun!

Hope all of you are having a great Monday and ready for an AWESOME week!!!

Thankful Thursday — Back to Basics

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Today I am thankful for….

Life.

Good Morning. If you read my blog you would know, I complained in the past, a lot about “SUPER” early morning wake-ups! Lately, I had been waking up around 9-10 A.M. My sleep schedule is all messed up and it feels like the days have been flying by and I am just not getting anything done by sleeping in that late, when I am waking up so late groggy . This morning I woke up around 4:45 A.M. and got out of bed a little after 5 A.M. A perfect time in my opinion. I had been on one extreme or another. Need to find my middle ground and start waking up on my own, somewhere between 5-6 A.M would be ideal.

I decided, I am in desperate need to get back on a  sleep schedule with early wake-ups and get my motivation and energy back!

I am still grieving the loss of my Mother In Law. I really didn’t know that it would hit me so hard. Ever since my Mother in Law was released from the hospital straight to my house, at the very beginning of January, I feel like my “LIFE” has been on hold. There has been non-stop stress in my life, and that needs to change. My Mother and Father in Law, have not lived more than five minuets away my entire marriage. I did not grow up here. When I was seventeen I got on a Greyhound Bus to go visit my future husband and family in Washington State from Michigan and never really looked back. I took on his family as my own with all the family drama and love, that come along with it. Now, with both parents gone, I feel lost. I have ALL of her stuff in my house, her things, literally take up three rooms in my house.  I have not been able to “deal” with her stuff yet. I think I sunk into a little bit of depression. I’m lucky to keep up on the dailies and keeping the main areas clear. However, moving forward has been harder than I could ever have imagined. It’s felt like I have been overwhelmed and stressed out since this year has started.

My daughter just had foot surgery a couple days ago and is non-weight bearing for 6 weeks and at least three months recovery time. Then she will do the other foot. So, now I am taking care of her. And, trust me she is more work than my Mother in Law was while she was dying. I feel like I just haven’t had a chance to “Just Breathe!”

This morning, while everyone is sleeping, I finally feel ready to get back to life. I am ready to enjoy life. I am ready to live each day to it’s fullest. I am ready to take back control of my home, health, and other responsibilities.

Moving Forward…..

Goals, Dreams, Life, Success, It’s MY time. Time to get back to putting myself first. The first step is just “showing up!” The second step, “showing up!” And, the third step, “showing up!” I am still on Spring break, and ready to “deal” with all the stuff of my Mother In Laws. This is going to require a LOT of work and a BIG yard sale.

Back on the Mat and back on the road! Signing up today for the Bloomsday Marathon in Spokane Washington. It’s at the beginning of May, so I am starting my training NOW. I have 38 days to prepare for this. Working out everyday, and stopping stress eating is one of my main priorities. A daily session with my Yoga Mat to avoid injury and get myself centered and grounded again is TOP Priority!

One day at a time!!!!!!

Daily blogging is also on my priority list. Also, my own personal writing, some awesome freelance opportunities, and continue writing my book. I’ve had days the past few months, where I couldn’t even bring myself to turn on my computer. Also, there are some awesome giveaways, and a total blog “make-over” coming SOON!

As ALWAYS, my plate is full. But, full of wonderful things to look forward to. Accomplishments to achieve and GOALS to focus on, to keep me busy and LIVE my life with the intention of finding balance and just jumping right back in with 110% effort to accomplish what I want and need!

So, Thankful Thursday! I am thankful that I have a renewed focus and new appreciation of living each day to it’s fullest.

Question of the day!?!?!

What are you Thankful for today?! What can you do today that your future self will thank you for????

Monday Madness — Inspiration — Motivation — Oh My

Happy Monday!

Woke up this morning to puppies my dogs new puppies and feeling really inspired and motivated to have a great week! They are adorable but a lot of work! I think my son stayed up all night while she was having them!

O.K. So, my digital detox is over. But, I am going to take some of what I’ve learned last week, to carry me through this week. I don’t need to be plugged in 24-7 and I am going to work on being more productive when I am online. (Work smarted not harder!)

It is such a weird feeling, I have a visitor coming today and I am NOT stressed about it. Yes, I have a little cleaning to do. but I am no longer living in total CHAOS! It’s so weird to keep up on stuff around the house. I’ve been letting my home hold me back for longer than I can remember. Slowly my home is coming together. Not just my home, but ME in general. I have been practicing lots on of daily self-care. I took quite a break here, focused on myself and keeping up with everything. Took lots of downtime while I have been in “transition” getting my Mother in Law moved in and back to better health, getting my home in order and keeping up with daily routines.

I can do more!

I consider myself a lifelong learner. Besides school, I spend my free time…. learning! I love learning about  different things. I realized how un-balanced all the areas in my life are. It’s getting better, but it’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. With everything that has been crazy that has been going on in my life, I still feel like I am in control. And… guess what?!?! I AM in control.

Motivation1

YES!

I’m really excited to get to the gym today and get my week started off right. Other than some allergies, the “I’m sick” excuse isn’t gonna “fly” anymore!

I have goals, dreams intentions……..

When I think about the main thing that I need to be doing in order to achieve balance in all my areas, my health is priority #1. It’s time to start 1/2 Marathon training, daily yoga, and work on my “own personal” exercise routines.

Another BIG focus…..

Going 100% Gluten/Wheat Free.

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s a lot easier to “say” that I will do it than it is to actually “live it.” and Guess What?!?!? It’s time to live it. I’m not one of those people that are going on some “new” craze. I really should have no wheat or gluten and I know this. Every time I slip, I physically regret it. That always doesn’t stop me. Gonna start getting super creative in the Kitchen and just come to terms with “No More.” There are plenty of things that I can eat that I don’t NEED to put my body through pain just to have one stupid snack or meal that doesn’t serve me as fuel.

I may be a slow learner, but I am getting it! I feel myself coming together and it feels amazing!

This week….

* I choose to focus on my house, get the areas organized that I have been avoiding. (Trust me there are a lot, even if the main areas are company/visitor friendly!

* I choose to FUEL my body with “real food.”

* I choose to get to the gym everyday! (#noExcuses)

* Time management. Yes, I need to work on this. My digital detox may be over, however I need to keep a actually schedule and limit my time on stuff that sucks me in to getting stuck.

I’m gonna keep on keeping on! Keep clearing space, space, and more space. Make room for some new exciting stuff to come into my life.

Missed a couple weeks of joining in on the — Monday Madness “Link Party”

Monday-Link-party-site

Go check it out…there are a lot of good and useful blogs in this “Link Party!”

So, what had been my secret to getting all of this to come together?!?! Honestly, going through this Feng Shui Catalyst camp has been life changing! Seriously, you should go check her out, Dana from The Tao of Dana is pretty amazing, and even if your not in the camp the blog and her You Tube Channel is filled with lots of inspiration and just some really good and positive ideas!

It’s not all superstitious Feng Shui, it’s just a energy thing. I mean ear ARE made up of energy!!! The changes that are happening feel like a “miracle” to me.

It’s all about complete “Wellness!” Mind, Body, & Soul connection!

Stay tuned, I have a giveaway coming up tomorrow on the blog! #yay I love doing giveaways!

I don’t know about you all, but I am ready for an AMAZING week!

Be well my friends!!! XOXO

Whatever Wednesday

Happy HUMP Day!

Geez halfway through the week already! Insomnia strikes again! It doesn’t help that I slept yesterday away! I think I was exhausted and it all finally caught up with me yesterday.

I woke up to this……….
image

image

Yup, that is my back deck off off the kitchen upstairs. My hubby was smoking fish and tried to burn the house down! Lucky the smoker didn’t burn all the way though the floor! Or, do any damage to the house. So, really just have to replace the support beam and 4 or 5 boards.

I put out the fire, (my house smelt like burnt fish all day!) and then I went back to bed! Besides not feeling very good and being exhausted, it just felt like a good day to lock myself in my room!

I slept almost all day! It was NICE! Until this morning when I woke up at 2 AM! Refused to get out of bed until 3:30 and then been playing on the computer, journaling, and catching up on The Originals.

I realized something important that I had not fully realized…………

Feng-Shui-Dana

I’m not even kidding! Somehow, my New Year’s Resolution stuck. and, I have been very, very busy getting my home in order! I still have tons and tons of work to do still… But, my house FEELS really good and has been kept up onto the point Visitors can just drop by! This is like huge for me, all my friends know they need to give me at least a hour to stash and dash!

O.K. So having my Mother In Law move in with us, really forced me to make the change. Forced a LOT of changes! I was just getting used to having lots of time to myself. Now I have to take my time to myself while the whole house is sleeping!

FYI — Feng Shui ROCKS.

Not only is my home transforming, everything around me is transforming. I can’t believe how much I raised my own personal energy. I am changing, for the better! I feel like clutter has been holding me back from EVERYTHING in my life! It only took one month for things to settle down and now starting to put routines in place and now I actually feel like I am moving forward. Not just with the house, but everything in my life seems to be moving forward. Even with being sick, taking care of mother in law, a stupid injury, a fire, and I swear, Mercury Retrograde is kicking my booty, but I am still O.K. and moving forward. My eating cleaned up a lot, my house is full of healthy food at all times, maybe one more day of staying at home and then I am ready to get back to the gym. It really blows getting injured & being sick! AND, keeping up with all my homework…. I feel like my creativity blocks are removed and it feels pretty awesome!

I still have a LOT of work to do on the house. My Mother In Law came with her own clutter. So, now I have to work on getting rid of all my $hit as well as hers! Cleared out spaces only to fill them back up again. I have a lot of cleaning I need to do as well. Especially, the stuff that never get’s cleaned.

NOW…..

It’s time to get back into my workout routines! Going to start with some For The Glow, at home workouts and Tara Stiles videos! My friends should be back from their vacations soon, so I will have my workout partners back.

Right now…

Time for ME…. is the most important item on my to-do lists! It’s so easy to get busy and get burnt out. I feel refreshed and ready to put my “Success Hat” back on! Moving forward…………

I am getting so much better at managing my time. I am also learning the importance of disconnecting from electronics! I just get overloaded and need to take a break every once in a while and make sure that I am using my time productively, while I am online!

I am also, doing a digital detox this week through the Catalyst Camp and learning about EMF’s. Something so simple as changing my wallpapers and screen savers on my phone made a huge difference and now I am working at cleaning up files, pics, emails, etc. And, making sure everything is all backed up.

Last but not least I am putting the work in on some awesome opportunities!

January was not my month! February is short, but I think I will be getting a lot accomplished this month!

It really is thought provoking to look at the whole definition for the word
– Focus – I realized that this is what I have been doing as I reflect on this Month & Year, thus far.
I have been centering my attention on one area of my life at a time. My “focus” as a whole; as part of my life is out of balance.
But, I am working on it.
From this point forward, I am going to look at the picture (of life,) as a “whole.”  Yes, in the moment I can only focus on one thing at a time. Instead of trying to do everything in each moment, I need to take each moment separately, but by looking at the picture as a whole.  Each moments focus, building on one another, in order to achieve my desired outcome… Balance.
Focusing my energy in each moment. One task at a time. One day at a time.  I get it. However, at the very least I have to change my focus from moment to moment to other areas of my life. In the Book The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron, she talks about “The life of Pie,” keeping all the areas in your life balanced. For example; what good is putting all my focus on school work if my health area is out of balance, or my financial area is out of balance? What about time for my family?
So, my end goal is to get this circle in balance.
index
I can’t do everything at once. I know that, I tried “Superwoman Syndrome,” I just need to grab a flashlight and shine it on my life and figure out how to get this circle balanced out, and I can start by upping my level of focus in each moment.

average

#BOOM

Focus

So, there it is my early morning ramblings of bringing more focus to each area and every moment of my life, but by looking at the whole picture.

I took a week off a lot of things, after I got back from my vacation. — I had a electronic break for a couple days while I was away. Then when I came home, I have been working on limiting my time with my electronics. I also, had a bad slip on the ice on Monday, and have been taking it very easy! Add in the fact, I’ve kind of had a cold, and just overall not feeling great. So, I gave myself permission to rest. But, what is weird; in the middle of this rest, I am actually getting a lot of stuff done. But, I feel very off balance. Maybe, it “IS” Mercury Retrograde that is affecting me! So, I am taking some downtime… to focus on balancing out that circle. Just getting all my “mental ducks” in a row, so when my energy gets back, I will be ready.

This isn’t going to be that hard. Just a little focus on each area, “everyday,” this focus can go a long way!

Moment By Moment.
