#Confessions T’was the Day Before Turkey Day

Rumi quotes

And, all through the house..

The only creature stirring… is ME and my new baby April!

Happy Wednesday!

I am running five miler tomorrow morning! #EarnYourTurkey or in my case, prime rib #EarnYourPrimeRib lol. Taking today as a rest day as far as workouts! Stretching and a little yoga. I have shopping and cleaning to do today!

Tomorrow is going to be weird. It is the first with out my Mother In Law, it was hard enough without Father In Law, and my Sister In Law is not hosting, Thanksgiving this year. My daughter is growing up and is in Alaska with her boyfriend visiting his mom, and my son is working. I think my husband is hunting in the morning.

My kids aren’t even out of the house and I am getting a taste of being an “Empty Nester!”

My daughter left on Saturday. She is only 17 (going on 25) and it was quite scary for ME to be honest! I’m more worried about the weather than anything. But, I’m lonely.

You would think I would be super productive. And, hopefully I can SAY that at the end of the day, however I have been … well lazy!

Maybe, a little Winter Blues. Sitting with my happy lamp on me as I type.

Where’s my REAL confession?!

I have paid to upgrade this blog a long time ago, at least 6 months. All I really need to do it get on the phone with Blue Host and let them walk me through the transfer. This scares me, literally I fear change. I’ve tossed around the idea of starting a Blog from scratch. Still, this weighs on me. I was going to post my giveaway on Monday, but noticed the dates I wrote down were wrong, so…. what better way to kick off the new blog or new “old” blog than with a giveaway. 🙂

Another confession… I have been binging last couple days. I mean real honest to goodness, mindless eating until I feel sick. I do NOT purge, I just simply inhale food.

Honestly, I wrote it out, what I “really” come up with for reasons why, is I just had a scale victory. I didn’t realize that I had lost 20 lbs until I got on the same scale from two months ago. According to my clothes I knew I lost weight, but it wasn’t until i seen the number on the scale that I think I freaked out and started eating!

(I’ve had different forms of ED though the years) I’ll save all that for another blog.

So, I will recognize and accept that “that just happened!” And, move forward. As always easier said than done, but I put myself on front street and put a sticky note on fridge and cupboards to be “mindful” of my eating!

I am very thankful that I can recognize this pattern only a couple days in to the binge, because I will NOT “have” to lose progress. And, I should be PUMPED from MY success, not let it bring me down!

I am not even worried about tomorrow. I’m cooking so it’s gonna be a good post run Thanksgiving Feast!

So, tell me one confession and one thing to be thankful for!?!?!

Wishing Everyone a wonderful day,

Laurie~

Randomness #JustBecause

Happy Wednesday!

It’s two o’clock in the morning….

The End

Just Kidding! I just can’t sleep! I am not at home, I am watching my friends kids while her parents have surgery. It just so happens that the strongest windstorm ever recorded hit Washington State and the worst is where my friend is at, poor girl in a Hotel in the dark! (I would HATE that!) Luckily, her dad’s surgery was today and she had to spend the night, and she didn’t have to drive back home (which would of been REALLY bad,) because her mom’s pre-op appointment is tomorrow.

If I had my Journal this would be a major Brain Dump moment, but I don’t I have my blog — and here I am.

I have so much to be thankful for and so many exciting things are happening over the next few months, well… the randomness never ends!

I’m currently doing the Holiday Sweat Challenge with Run To The Finish and Fit Approach. I have my 5 miler Virtual Race Next week with Running on The Wall #EarnYourTurkey race. I’m kind of EXCITED! I’ve been getting in shape and my running is improving each and every time I run! This week, Holiday Sweat is focused on Core, which I have been neglecting lately! Something I realized I need to focus more attention on!

Side Random Note: I have another giveaway starting soon! Be on the lookout!

My last giveaway was so much fun I LOVE doing them! My winner Was Sandra from A Promise To Dad Blog.  I am loving her blog!

On another note I WON a giveaway! (I guess what goes around, comes around!) I won the Sunwarrior Giveaway from Susie’s amazing blog Suz Lyfe.

Geez… I could write forever right now, but I need to try to get a couple hours sleep before these kids wake up and have to be taken to all different schools!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Completely Random Saturday’s — Coffee Talk — Running, Yoga, and Healing

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Day Before, my Virtual 5K with Running On The Wall.

miracle-miva_2_750x750

This is my Swag! Love it ALL! OMG those sandals are to die for. And the shirt is so soft and perfectly fit. But I will tell you more after my virtual race tomorrow. Sunday Runday’s are on a big-time comeback for me.

Long story short + *disclaimer I was offered a chance to run a Virtual Race a month, tell about it for a sawg pack like posted the above, once a month for a year. (Can I get a heck YES?!) Talk about some running motivation! This opportunity came to me last weekend at the Seabrook Retreat, during my brief spot of internet, after a horrid attempt at a run. What really stood out to me was the thought, perfect timing! because, I had actually cried after a asthma attack at the beginning of a beach run. I made it to top of steps and kept on going back to the house to get calm, I didn’t think to bring a inhaler, I have only had a asthma attract a couple times in my life. And, this was  at the very beginning of the workout. (TOTALLY WILL HAVE A POST ON SEABROOK with For The Glow….It was an amazing, life-changing trip that deserves a whole blog post for itself, just like my Running recap will be tomorrow!)

To add to that *Disclaimer, all opinions are my own. I would totally do this, get a bunch of friends from all over the world, to Virtually race with me. With that amazing quality of “Swag” involved and it’s cheaper than a real race and if the weather does not cooperate and you can sort of pick your own date close to that of the event time.

And then I cried, and cried, and cried, in a nice warm shower. It wasn’t just the attack, it was the fact I gave up and I really need to make running and consistently running back in my life.

So, I seen the opportunity to run a virtual race and commit for a year…. I was all over that…. DONE! It said run, walk or crawl! So, my first race will be my starting point basically!

Oh man, it looks beautiful out, but Oh man, my allergies really “turned on” this morning. I am really contemplating the weekly allergies shots. It feels like every season is a season that I have a different allergy.

So, for me “right now” running outdoors is what completely flares my allergies up is out of the question. It sucks because it would be optimal outside running weather! (Shhhhh I am a fair weather runner!) Lucky for me, that’s exactly why I joined the gym!

And, the beauty of a Virtual 5K!

I just got done doing something totally crazy…

Ready for it…

I did my “own” yoga workout early this A.M. No planning ,just flowing this morning. Giving lots of extra attention to what I have been working on healing and stretching what needs to be stretched. I finished…..

… and I just sat there. And, then I meditated for a while no time limit, just until I felt like stopping… and felt this overwhelming sense of gratitude, that I just did something very special for myself.

I have not done that in a long time. My body is so happy right now.

I truly believe that everyone should take their yoga & meditation practice HOME with them!

Also, side note I had to get in and get some Spa Time at Espri Corps Ame’ I told her what hurts where, and had the most AMAZING Massage, and then did an AMAZING Infrared Sauna treatment. Another light-bulb moment from Seabrook, I needed to fix my back and hips AND clear out my lungs or I won’t have any good workouts!

Now I have no plans today except cleaning in my PJ’s! Yes, I took a shower and put new PJ’s on, because … it’s freakin Saturday! It’s my planning day and R & R “personal” spa day.

Anyways, gonna enjoy me some “Wonderful Saturday!”

Have a BLESSED DAY,

Laurie~*

Making Monday’s Magical — Balance

Motivation1

Happy Monday, May 4th! May the forth be with you!

#confession …. It’s never get’s old. I’m a old school Star Wars geek!

kundalini-energy

I believe there is a force in all of us that keeps us going. And, if we pay attention, it directs us where to go and helps us with our own life path. Some people don’t realize it’s even there and ignore the signs. Others just have a higher intuition and “just KNOW.”  You can call it whatever you want. But, bottom line is we are all made out of energy and need to keep that “Balance” in check. I can totally feel when my life it out of balance and my energy is out of whack and periods of extreme lows etc.

That is WHY……

I’m working on “focusing” MY Life Force, my personal balance… on yours truly in the month of May! #ProjectMeInMay

This is a pretty big project! I am kind of climbing out of the “grief” hibernation mode.

~Intentions~

* Getting Grounded

* Extra Extra Self-Care

* Race Training

* GLOW training

* Focus on my other writing & projects (Success)

* TIME MANAGEMENT (VIP)

* Flexibility in BOTH ways! First, with my body because, I want to and injury prevention. Second, in my life.. work on and personal projects.

* Creativity

* Energy

* Nutrition

* Fitness

* Arm Strength (tank top season!)

* Spirituality

So, today I am getting my week started off on great note and getting a lot accomplished and have I have some fantastic FUN plans for this month. But, also have some work to put in so I can truly enjoy my upcoming adventures when I squeeze in some FUN time, travel, and hopefully…. lots of fun in the Sun!

Hope all of you are having a great Monday and ready for an AWESOME week!!!

Namaste,

Laurie~

The Power of Now

I love being “present!” I have always been a live in the moment kind of girl. I have grown a new, deeper appreciation to live each day to it’s fullest. To take care of your self first and then let the other pieces fall in to place.

In no particular order my “NOW” consists of homework, finals, and HOT YOGA! In no particular order! There is a little cleaning and “taking care of business” mixed in there to. It’s all about BALANCE. So, when the unexpected comes up then I am ready for it.

now_watch_01

And, this whole year has been ALL about the unexpected!

Finally, starting to return to some kind of normal. Today would of been my Mother in Laws Birthday. So, every once in a while it comes up to “hit” me again. I really don’t have too much desire to go celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, instead I am meeting friends at Hot Yoga at 7:30. My hubby deals with it in his own way. He went fishing in the rain today.

So, NOW I am getting caught up on everything and not planning on leaving the house until tonight! I’m a little overwhelmed, but I got this!

Processed with Moldiv

Decided to jump in with #dishthefit Link-Up, hosted by Jill Conyers and The Fit Switch for their weekly Link-Up. Being present is so important. (Topic of the week.) For EVERYTHING in life!!!!

Wishing you all have the LUCK of the Irish with you today!

Monday Madness — Inspiration — Motivation — Oh My

Happy Monday!

Woke up this morning to puppies my dogs new puppies and feeling really inspired and motivated to have a great week! They are adorable but a lot of work! I think my son stayed up all night while she was having them!

O.K. So, my digital detox is over. But, I am going to take some of what I’ve learned last week, to carry me through this week. I don’t need to be plugged in 24-7 and I am going to work on being more productive when I am online. (Work smarted not harder!)

It is such a weird feeling, I have a visitor coming today and I am NOT stressed about it. Yes, I have a little cleaning to do. but I am no longer living in total CHAOS! It’s so weird to keep up on stuff around the house. I’ve been letting my home hold me back for longer than I can remember. Slowly my home is coming together. Not just my home, but ME in general. I have been practicing lots on of daily self-care. I took quite a break here, focused on myself and keeping up with everything. Took lots of downtime while I have been in “transition” getting my Mother in Law moved in and back to better health, getting my home in order and keeping up with daily routines.

I can do more!

I consider myself a lifelong learner. Besides school, I spend my free time…. learning! I love learning about  different things. I realized how un-balanced all the areas in my life are. It’s getting better, but it’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. With everything that has been crazy that has been going on in my life, I still feel like I am in control. And… guess what?!?! I AM in control.

Motivation1

YES!

I’m really excited to get to the gym today and get my week started off right. Other than some allergies, the “I’m sick” excuse isn’t gonna “fly” anymore!

I have goals, dreams intentions……..

When I think about the main thing that I need to be doing in order to achieve balance in all my areas, my health is priority #1. It’s time to start 1/2 Marathon training, daily yoga, and work on my “own personal” exercise routines.

Another BIG focus…..

Going 100% Gluten/Wheat Free.

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s a lot easier to “say” that I will do it than it is to actually “live it.” and Guess What?!?!? It’s time to live it. I’m not one of those people that are going on some “new” craze. I really should have no wheat or gluten and I know this. Every time I slip, I physically regret it. That always doesn’t stop me. Gonna start getting super creative in the Kitchen and just come to terms with “No More.” There are plenty of things that I can eat that I don’t NEED to put my body through pain just to have one stupid snack or meal that doesn’t serve me as fuel.

I may be a slow learner, but I am getting it! I feel myself coming together and it feels amazing!

This week….

* I choose to focus on my house, get the areas organized that I have been avoiding. (Trust me there are a lot, even if the main areas are company/visitor friendly!

* I choose to FUEL my body with “real food.”

* I choose to get to the gym everyday! (#noExcuses)

* Time management. Yes, I need to work on this. My digital detox may be over, however I need to keep a actually schedule and limit my time on stuff that sucks me in to getting stuck.

I’m gonna keep on keeping on! Keep clearing space, space, and more space. Make room for some new exciting stuff to come into my life.

Missed a couple weeks of joining in on the — Monday Madness “Link Party”

Monday-Link-party-site

Go check it out…there are a lot of good and useful blogs in this “Link Party!”

So, what had been my secret to getting all of this to come together?!?! Honestly, going through this Feng Shui Catalyst camp has been life changing! Seriously, you should go check her out, Dana from The Tao of Dana is pretty amazing, and even if your not in the camp the blog and her You Tube Channel is filled with lots of inspiration and just some really good and positive ideas!

It’s not all superstitious Feng Shui, it’s just a energy thing. I mean ear ARE made up of energy!!! The changes that are happening feel like a “miracle” to me.

It’s all about complete “Wellness!” Mind, Body, & Soul connection!

Stay tuned, I have a giveaway coming up tomorrow on the blog! #yay I love doing giveaways!

I don’t know about you all, but I am ready for an AMAZING week!

Be well my friends!!! XOXO

Whatever Wednesday

Happy HUMP Day!

Geez halfway through the week already! Insomnia strikes again! It doesn’t help that I slept yesterday away! I think I was exhausted and it all finally caught up with me yesterday.

I woke up to this……….
image

image

Yup, that is my back deck off off the kitchen upstairs. My hubby was smoking fish and tried to burn the house down! Lucky the smoker didn’t burn all the way though the floor! Or, do any damage to the house. So, really just have to replace the support beam and 4 or 5 boards.

I put out the fire, (my house smelt like burnt fish all day!) and then I went back to bed! Besides not feeling very good and being exhausted, it just felt like a good day to lock myself in my room!

I slept almost all day! It was NICE! Until this morning when I woke up at 2 AM! Refused to get out of bed until 3:30 and then been playing on the computer, journaling, and catching up on The Originals.

I realized something important that I had not fully realized…………

Feng-Shui-Dana

I’m not even kidding! Somehow, my New Year’s Resolution stuck. and, I have been very, very busy getting my home in order! I still have tons and tons of work to do still… But, my house FEELS really good and has been kept up onto the point Visitors can just drop by! This is like huge for me, all my friends know they need to give me at least a hour to stash and dash!

O.K. So having my Mother In Law move in with us, really forced me to make the change. Forced a LOT of changes! I was just getting used to having lots of time to myself. Now I have to take my time to myself while the whole house is sleeping!

FYI — Feng Shui ROCKS.

Not only is my home transforming, everything around me is transforming. I can’t believe how much I raised my own personal energy. I am changing, for the better! I feel like clutter has been holding me back from EVERYTHING in my life! It only took one month for things to settle down and now starting to put routines in place and now I actually feel like I am moving forward. Not just with the house, but everything in my life seems to be moving forward. Even with being sick, taking care of mother in law, a stupid injury, a fire, and I swear, Mercury Retrograde is kicking my booty, but I am still O.K. and moving forward. My eating cleaned up a lot, my house is full of healthy food at all times, maybe one more day of staying at home and then I am ready to get back to the gym. It really blows getting injured & being sick! AND, keeping up with all my homework…. I feel like my creativity blocks are removed and it feels pretty awesome!

I still have a LOT of work to do on the house. My Mother In Law came with her own clutter. So, now I have to work on getting rid of all my $hit as well as hers! Cleared out spaces only to fill them back up again. I have a lot of cleaning I need to do as well. Especially, the stuff that never get’s cleaned.

NOW…..

It’s time to get back into my workout routines! Going to start with some For The Glow, at home workouts and Tara Stiles videos! My friends should be back from their vacations soon, so I will have my workout partners back.

Right now…

Time for ME…. is the most important item on my to-do lists! It’s so easy to get busy and get burnt out. I feel refreshed and ready to put my “Success Hat” back on! Moving forward…………

I am getting so much better at managing my time. I am also learning the importance of disconnecting from electronics! I just get overloaded and need to take a break every once in a while and make sure that I am using my time productively, while I am online!

I am also, doing a digital detox this week through the Catalyst Camp and learning about EMF’s. Something so simple as changing my wallpapers and screen savers on my phone made a huge difference and now I am working at cleaning up files, pics, emails, etc. And, making sure everything is all backed up.

Last but not least I am putting the work in on some awesome opportunities!

January was not my month! February is short, but I think I will be getting a lot accomplished this month!

There-can-be-no-great-accomplishment-without-risk
